Atta Golf September 2022 Junior Golf Blog

Do you have plans with your junior golf kids this weekend? Atta Golf suggests that you should go out with your kids to play one of the 1,800+ golf courses that participate in the Youth on Course program to play a $5 round with your junior golfers.

Youth on Course Overview

Youth on Course (YOC) started as a solution to problem of creating increased access to kids on the golf course. It does this by providing subsidized rounds of golf for juniors at $5 or less on over 1,800 golf courses across the United States and Canada. The program believes that kids lives are bettered through individual growth on the course and the connections forged along the way. Positive benefits include patience, problem solving, calmed nerves, and networking. It also creates a safe environment for some and access to opportunities that might not otherwise be obtained when financial barriers are in place.

Similar to Atta Golf's mission, YOC wants that future of golf to be inviting, inclusive, and most importantly, accessible to all young people that will eventually become the future of the game.

YOC goes beyond subsidized rounds and offers an internship program, caddie program, and college scholarships.

Internship Program

Caddie Program

The YOC Caddie Program is another opportunity for junior golfers to get on the course, learn the game, and generate some income. YOC has an orientation program to get caddies off the ground before their first round.  The program itself creates a deeper sense of connection with the game, enhances course management, and creates confidence in speaking with adults.

College Scholarships

YOC believes the game extends beyond junior golfers.  As kids transition into adulthood, from high school seniors into college, they are able to apply for YOC's college scholarship program. YOC gives out over $2.6M to over 300 kids annually to help them in their college journey. 40% of awards were given to kids where they were the first in their family to attend college.  Full time high school students with a GPA of 3.0 or greater are eligible to apply for an interview to receive a scholarship.

Support Youth on Course

YOC runs on the annual membership and the support of generous donors that love to give back to the game of golf. There are several ways to donate, so if you're looking to give back to the golf community, Youth on Course is an outstanding organization to give to.
